Accessibility: Everything You Wanted to Know and More

Details

Accessibility requirements are some of the most confusing out there, especially in multi-family housing. With changing codes, interpretations, and trends, accessibility is not a static standard. This class will cover topics from basic accessibility concepts to minimization of risk. The presentation will provide clear and relevant information on 5 major subject areas: applicable standards, basic concepts, bathrooms, kitchens, and common errors. Presented in a logical progression, you will learn the majority of issues that arise during the design and construction phases. Also, presented will be multiple solutions to resolving these common issues taking into account aesthetics, price, and level of tolerable risk. Eligible for 5 HSW. Lunch will be provided.
