POST Wallace Stegner Lecture with Vandana Shiva

Details

Join Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) for an evening with Dr. Vandana Shiva, philosopher and author. Dr. Shiva is an Indian environmentalist and has written over twenty books on sustainable food systems, ecology, and the role of women in environmental movements in India and worldwide. Her Navdanya initiative teaches Indian farmers organic growing techniques and maintains a food bank to promote biodiversity. Vandana will explore the connections between sustainable agriculture and conservation, and share stories from her work to promote women in farming.

POST protects open space on the Peninsula and in the South Bay. Since 1993, POST has hosted the Wallace Stegner Lectures, which feature ideas and inspiration from conservation leaders, thinkers and activists. The 2019 lecture series will explore ways to build resilience in an era of evolving society and a changing climate.
