August Drum Circle at the Farm

Details

NOTE: Due to construction starting on the new house, we will have this drum circle in the back field and we are asking everyone to park on Montgomery Lane (off Stanwich) or in the Pinetum Park parking lot and walking through the park to enter the farm through the "Old Apple Orchard" meadow, sometimes referred to as "The Quidditch Field". DO NOT park on the neighbor's property along the driveway to our home.

If you have an injury, disability, or otherwise unable to walk that far, please contact me and we will arrange a ride for you or give you one of the few parking spaces not blocked by construction fencing.

Our drum circles are facilitated by Anitra Brooks. She is a leader in the areas of experiential education, leadership development, and performing and healing arts. She is a talented musician, singer-songwriter, actor, educator, and an eclectic facilitator of healing.

Children are welcome. They can join in the drumming or play with the other children around the farm.

What should I bring?
Please bring your own drum, and extra drums to share with others if you have any. You may also want to bring a lawn chair, cushion, blanket or yoga mat to sit on. We have a few extra for those who do not have one or forget.

Where is it located?
Our drum circles are held on a farm in Cos Cob. For the address, please RSVP and it will be sent to you via private message. This time we will be asking everyone to park on Montgomery Lane (at the circle at the end of the lane) or at the Pinetum parking lot and walk through on the paved path, and across a meadow to enter the farm through the back. If you have a lot of drums you can drop them off first to avoid carrying them.

Is there any cost?
The drum circle is free. Donations of any amount will be gratefully accepted to buy drums to be used by this community in our seasonal drum circles. Donations have already covered the Meetup fee through the end of the year. In some philosophies it is important to maintain a balance of reciprocity. If you cannot donate money you may consider contributing to the group by volunteering your time.

If any questions text Marija 917- 683 -6062.

There is a port-a-potty. Bring your own water to drink please.

Event will be cancelled if it rains.
