What we're about

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: DUE TO THE COVID-19 SITUATION, IN PERSON MEETINGS OF THIS GROUP HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED AS OF MARCH 15 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. HOWEVER, FOR EVERY CURRENTLY SCHEDULED MEETING TIME I WILL CONDUCT A MEETING ON ZOOM IN WHICH ALL INTERESTED CAN PARTICIPATE REMOTELY -- AT THE SAME DATE AND TIME AS WE WOULD HAVE MET IN PERSON.

THUS, IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE THE ZOOM INVITATION ON THE DAY OF THE CALL, PLEASE RSVP 'YES'. THOSE WHO HAVE RSVP'D 'YES' WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM ME ON THE DAY OF THE CALL PROVIDING THE INFORMATION TO ENABLE YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE CALL VIA ZOOM. (TO USE ZOOM, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPTION OF CLICKING A WEB LINK OR CALLING INTO ONE OF THE TELEPHONE NUMBERS PROVIDED.)

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME AT kevin@kevinblisscoaching.com or by cell/text at 202-607-1174.

ADDITIONAL GRIEF SUPPORT MONTHLY MEETING OPPORTUNITY: Should you be interested in participating in a second Grief Support Group each month for the duration of the Social Isolation of the COVID19 Pandemic and while the meetings are on Zoom rather than in person, I invite you to join a second Grief Support Meetup Group - affording you the opportunity to meet with others who are grieving twice per month instead of just once per month. It is a group that generally meets in Rehoboth Beach, DE on the third Thursday of every month, although dates could change. To be apprised of the meetings of that group, please feel free to search for and join the following Meetup Group: "Monthly Rehoboth Beach Grief Support Group with Kevin Bliss". You will then receive reminders of the meetings of that group, with the ability to participate in those meetings by RSVPing "Yes" to any particular Meetup Meeting. Those who've RSVP'd "Yes" will relieve a Zoom invitation on the day of the meeting. Should you have any questions, please contact me as set forth above in the previous paragraph.

The purpose of these 1-hour sessions is to provide a safe and healing place for those struggling with grief. There is a notion that people should be able ‘just get over’ their grief, when the reality is that grief is a complicated process for most everyone and the only path forward is going through it.

Among other things, the group offers people who are grieving the opportunity to be with others who are also are on the grief journey. It means you are likely to meet people who are genuinely understanding and sympathetic. You are fellow travelers on the same road.

Kevin J. Bliss (http://kevinjbliss.com/contact/) is the leader of the group, trained and certified as an End-of-Life Coach by Coaching at the End of Life (http://coachingatendoflife.com). Coaching is an ideal methodology for working with those who are grieving as it is designed to meet people exactly where they are their journey and to assist them in finding their own path forward.

To be a "group," a minimum of 2 people in addition to the organizers is necessary for the meeting to take place. If less than 2 people have signed up by the afternoon of the event, the meeting will be cancelled. If less than three actually show up, the event will be abbreviated and the group will be only social, not a formal Grief Support Group event.

We ask participants for a voluntary donation of $5 to the church. You can make a direct contribution by clicking here (https://onrealm.org/StAugustinesEpi/Give/TFVUJRILQZ).

SPECIAL NOTICE: Due to the Covid 19 situation, there will be no further in-person meetings until further notice. If you are interested in participating in on-line (either with video on your computer or by call-in on the phone) please RSVP 'Yes' to the meeting. You will then receive specific instructions for the on-line meeting. Please contact me with questions: [masked] Too often in our culture, there is a notion that people should be able ‘just get over’ their grief, when the reality is that grief is a complicated process for most everyone and the only path forward is going through it. That process is also different for everyone. There are no rules of grieving, except that it takes time to heal. The purpose of these 1-hour sessions (at both our Afternoon and Evening Grief Support Groups) is to provide a safe and healing place for those struggling with grief. We would welcome your participation. The groups are facilitated by Kevin Bliss, an Integral Life Coach also certified as an End of Life Coach. A voluntary donation from participants of the group will be invited for our host, St. Augustine's Episcopal Church.
