Resilient Parents For Resilient Kids

Online event

'In two sessions I've already got so much value, picking up great tips and ideas on how to raise my own kids resiliently, and swapping notes with other dads of daughters. It's what we all need right now, for our kids and as parents. Will be back, highly recommended!' Niall In this monthly 1 hour online interactive session, we will explore what you need as a parent right now and respond with various practical tips to help reduce family stress and boost your child's mental health and wellbeing. Let us come together, connect, share stories, and not feel alone in all we are going through as families during this challenging time. "Parenting unfolds one moment at a time! While there are numerous resources on how to raise a child, every child is different. Every parent is different. Every family is in a different situation." Professor Dasaratha Rama, Managing Moments Parenting Toolkit. When parents have a bigger purpose and passion it gives them energy to lead their family and they inspire their kids too. It is so easy to get sucked into daily dramas, we can’t always see the wood for the trees. I will remind you how to trust your own wings and inspire your children to do the same. There is also an optional 10-minute free follow up call for each participant, where Jane Tyson can offer further support and sign-posting. Join me on the third Thursday of each month 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm If you have any questions please message your host Jane [masked] A zoom link will be sent out on the day of the event, please check your spam and messages on here. We look forward to sharing techniques and strategies for family success. Follow #happykidsareresilientkids

Forest Immersion Technique with Guildford Wellness Meet Up Group

This "Forest Immersion Technique" session is for Guildford Wellness Group on the fourth Saturday of each month with Jane Tyson. A little more about it: We are all Natural Born Biophiliacs and I promise you that while there’s limited wi-fi in nature, you will find the connection you seek. Simply following Thom Yorke’s advice and: “go outside into Nature,” is all Shinrin-Yoku means, because denying our instincts to do just that leads to imbalance and impacts wellbeing. Forest Immersion Technique may sound a bit strange but could not be simpler and requires no equipment, techniques or anything other than an open mind and willingness to go outdoors whatever the weather. You’re not going to be expected to do anything odd like pulling a Bear Grylls or whip up a bivouac using two sticks and a butter knife, but you are encouraged to drink deeply of the pure beauty that surrounds you and find it nourishing and balancing. Believe me, your cells will be sighing in relief. Nature is cheaper than therapy. Forest immersion has in the past 20 years become a cornerstone of healthcare in Japan and South Korea, with abundant hard scientific evidence to show its benefits on mental and physical health. Stress hormone levels fall, we feel again our connection to the earth. Shinrin-Yoku has been proven in stringent scientific peer-reviewed research to stabilize and improve mood and cognition, to lower blood pressure, to increase the peace and sharpen the focus of both children and adults with ADHD or on the autistic spectrum. We can listen to Nature, we can re-connect and it is becoming more necessary than ever in our over-stimulated, technologically-addicted world. We can by simply going out into it, learn to appreciate the magic silence of nature, bask in tranquility. We can learn to listen to what Nature has to say to us. We'll make the creative most of our time because we also want the richest most spontaneous experience possible – you see, we know how good this feels and that’s why I want to share it with you. For this F.I.T event, we meet outside the Dabbling Duck in Shere for a prompt start. The walk is 1 hour in total, quite hilly in places, allowing 2 hours for the total experience. Wear sensible shoes, bring water and possibly a mat or small towel to sit on if you prefer not to sit on the forest floor. Participants walk and join in at their own risk. Expect The Unexpected. 6 socially distanced spaces. Cost £5 Please message Jane on[masked] to secure your place too. 1:1 sessions also available @£60 per 2 hours message [masked] copy via @saidthedoormous 2018
