GIS Day

Details
What is Geographic Information Systems (GIS)? Stop by to find out how GIS impacts your daily life! GIS answers questions such as "what is at this location?" and "what is the best route between two places?" Every day we interact with things made possible through GIS, such as making travel easier or helping officals with city planning. Mapping is so much more than you'd think!
GIS Day is a world-wide event that provides a forum for users of GIS technology to demonstrate the real-world applications in their field or industry. This event promotes educational and professional outreach, and allows the public to discover the greater geospatial community.
The Gulf Coast GIS User Group will host a GIS Day Event at the State College of Florida in the Together Manatee Room (5840 26th St W, Bradenton, FL: Building 3).
Exhibits Open 12 to 5 PM
Guest Speakers 2 to 4 PM
Mapathon 5 to 7 PM
Come get hands-on experience with GIS and attend our OpenStreets Mapathon! Everyone is welcome, and no experience is necessary! Please bring your laptop for the Mapathon event.
