Shorebird Nesting at Gulf Islands National Seashore

Mark Nicholas, the Biologist/Collateral FMO at the Gulf Islands National Seashore will speak to us on local populations of nesting shorebirds. He will cover the many challenges these ground nesting birds deal with each season; from the various human impacts such as overflights, roadkill and just simple human presence in nesting areas to predator issues from other species such as coyote/raccoon and other species of birds.  Historical trends and successes/failures will also be discussed.
