Joe Kovarik, April 25th "Exploring and Photographing the Colorado Plateau"

Details
Doors open at 6:30pm, so come a little early and visit with other photographers before the meeting starts.
Tonight, Joe Kovarik will make a presentation on his photography experiences on the Colorado Plateau. This area covers western Colorado, Northwestern New Mexico, Southeastern Utah and Northeastern Arizona. It would be hard to argue against the Colorado Plateau possessing some of the greatest and most numerous iconic spots for landscape photography in the world.
Joe has traveled thousands of miles over numerous trips exploring the Colorado Plateau and will present location, travel and photography tips for the well-known areas such as Arches National Park, Zion National Park, Monument Valley, and the Grand Canyon along with the lesser known areas such as the Native American sites of Cedar Mesa, Utah, New Mexico’s Bisti Badlands and the canyons and formations along the Hole in the Rock Road south of Escalante, Utah.
He will introduce you to the beauty of the places available to you, and give you valuable information on how to find and photograph these areas, cautions on safety when in the desert country, maps, directions, and distances; and of course plenty of photographs to inspire you.
Joe will also have available his latest book “Vanishing Landmarks of Georgia: Gristmills and Covered Bridges”. The book has photographs along with location information, driving directions and a brief history of 56 gristmills and 16 covered bridges throughout the state of Georgia.
He will answer questions about both the Colorado Plateau and his book following his presentation.
Should be informative and entertaining especially for those without first-hand experience at any of these outstanding locations.
