Waterfalls in the Clayton Area - Sunday trip
Details
Photograph five northeast Georgia waterfalls - Minnehaha Falls, Bad Branch Falls, Lower and Upper Crow Creek Falls, and Reedy Branch Falls, just over the South Carolina line. Hiking distance for each waterfall is approximately 1/2 mile in-and-out.
We will meet at the I-985 & SR 20 Park and Ride (Exit 4 off 985) at 6:30AM. Park in the section of the Park and Ride lot directly across from Mountain Motor Sports Mall of GA. Parking is very limited at each waterfall, so carpooling is recommended.
We will stop for lunch at The Open Door at Alley's Ole Store in Lakemont.
There are no restrooms available at any of the waterfalls.
Photography equipment recommended: wide angle lens, short telephoto lens, circular polarizing filter, neutral density filters, tripod, remote release.
Waterproof boots are recommended for getting in the water to photograph the falls. You may also want hiking boots or shoes. The area around the falls can be slippery, so you may want a change of clothes or at least an extra pair of dry socks. Also bring water, snacks, and rain gear for you and your equipment.
Group size is limited to 7 people - and this will only work if some of us carpool due to limited parking.
