April 2018 - Meet Amazing Data Women

Our postponed February meetup will now take place on April 17th at Facebook. We will have the same amazing line-up of amazing women who work with data to share their inspiring career stories with us. So please come along, ask questions and meet other women who love data!

Speakers:

Ailbhe Menton (@ailbhementon) is Head of the Marketing Science Experts team at Facebook EMEA. Having graduated with a degree in Economics and Management from Oxford University, she began her career as a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group in London. Following this, she held research positions at Victoria’s Secret in New York, Starbucks and Amazon in Seattle. Prior to joining Facebook in 2016, she led global mass media investment planning at Amazon.

Sophie Daly (@SophDaly) is a Data Engineer at Zalando Dublin. Her main interest has always been maths which soon became her comfort zone after reading Mathematics at UCC. Through unpredicted career progressions she has (gratefully) almost matched her enthusiasm for maths with that for computer science. It's this combination that motivates her to work in Data Science. As part of Zalando's Fashion Content Platform which specialises in providing fashion insights through data related products, she gets to work on and advance in the areas she loves the most. Zalando has also given Sophie a new found interest in fashion, a field which definitely does not come naturally to her, but sure she's trying her best!

Aimee O'Beirne (@aimoir) is the Fashion Data Librarian at Zalando, Dublin. As the domain expert, she helps to strengthen the relationship between technology and fashion, supporting the ground-breaking work from the Data scientists and Data engineers in both Dublin and Berlin. Bringing a fashion edge to a world of science and technology, she works to incite inspiration and fuel a deeper understanding of the fashion industry. With an established background in Fashion Design, Fashion Buying and Trend forecasting Aimée is an accomplished fashion industry expert.

Gráinne McDonagh (@GrainneAMcD) is a management consultant working in the Utilities sector, helping clients to use insights from data and analytics to improve decision making. Gráinne is a recovering engineer and, after a slight detour working in pharma and design engineering, she entered the world of consulting. She initially joined Capgemini Consulting’s Analytics/Operational Research team in London and is now in Accenture’s Resources team in Dublin. Her expertise is in delivering data visualisation and analytics solutions for gas, electricity, water and infrastructure clients.
