Suzanne Sharkey (@sharkels) is a Manager within Marketing Science Partners at Facebook Engineer. She was born and bred in Dublin and studied Business in Trinity College. Following that she began my career in Paddy Power where she spent 4.5 years in a number of Analytics and Marketing roles. Suzanne has been at Facebook for almost 3 years and is currently leading one of the Marketing Science teams that support Digital Native businesses in EMEA.
Irene Yeriskin is a senior software developer at Oliver Wyman Labs, one of the top management consulting firms. She has started out as a chemist and later studied theoretical physics for her PhD where she discovered programming and working with large data sets. After graduation she worked as a process engineer for Intel where the 24 hour running process generated data that was used to forecast equipment maintenance and upgrades. She used this knowledge at AON on the data science team, solving complex problems in the insurance sector. Now she works as a senior software developer across various projects from financial forecasting to retail solutions, as well as across the full stack.
Ursula Redmond (@uredmond) is a Data Scientist at VSware. She started working with large data sets during her PhD in computing science at UCD. She studied the optimization problem of pattern matching in network data, which becomes prohibitively expensive for larger networks. After graduation, she worked as a software engineer at SIG, developing financial trading applications that need to handle huge volumes of market data at a high throughput. She currently works on the optimization team at VSware, tackling the timetabling problem for European secondary schools. She enjoys mountain running and chatting about puzzles, usually not at the same time.
