Global Day of Code Retreat

Haarlem Software Developers Meetup joins the 'Global Day of Coderetreat'.

A Coderetreat is a day-long, intensive practice event, focusing on the fundamentals of software development and design. During this day we will we implement Conways 'Game of Life' multiple times with some restrictions to force you out of your comfort zone and allow you to explore and learn.

By providing you the opportunity to take part in focused practice, away from the pressures of 'getting things done', the coderetreat format has proven itself to be a highly effective means of skill improvement. Practicing the basic principles of modular and object-oriented design, developers can improve their ability to write code that minimizes the cost of change over time.

Rules

• You can do the programming in any language you like or like to learn!

• We will do the exercises in pairs

• Bring a laptop to work on (and have the necessary programming tools installed and ready)

• Show respect for the other participants
