  • Game Hack Night
Each week we have a focus theme in hopes of generating more collisions between people with a particular interest. The 2nd Tuesday is Game Hack Night - developing video games, mobile games, new tabletop games, hacking old tabletop games, modding old-school game consoles, remixing game midi tracks, whatever! As usual, this is open format - there is no official program - the night is what you make of it. All forms of game hackery and experience levels welcome! • Robot Hack Night
The forth Tuesday of month is now Robot Hack Night targeting folks interested in DIY robotics, e.g. lego mindstorms, arduino, nodebots, homemade exoskeletons, etc. Everyone loves to see demos, so please bring your works in progress regardless of just how spaz-tastic your bot is. Our goal is to culminate the year with a local Hebocon - The Robot Contest for Dummies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46ivFpsmEVQ Best, Sam ps/ Join the Hack Portland Slack: https://join.slack.com/t/hack-portland/shared_invite/enQtMzY2MDk1ODIwNzQzLWJjMzkwMGRmZTAxNWNmZmQwZmEzZTI1YTlkMzk2MGY4ODVkZmNkM2RiZWIzZjQxOTUxNWQ0M2NlZjkwNjBhMzk

  • Portland Civic Hack Night w/ Open Maine
Once a month we discuss and work on civic projects. "civic hacking" is the idea of applying rapid prototyping and modern, open technology to the solution of common civic problems such as voting, budgeting, parking, transit, community engagement, etc., (to name just a few). Everyone is welcome from all backgrounds and skill levels. We suggest bringing a laptop or something to work on for unstructured time. We also share what we are working on at the beginning of each meetup and will sometimes have a scheduled speaker. There is usually some simple food and drink like pizza, but you may want to bring some of your own as well. Let us know if you have any food recommendations since we're thinking about what food to have for 2018! So, come hack your city (in a good way)! Everyone is welcome! There are no rules.
