This is the monthly Hack Things meetup. We have two generous sponsors including Synapse (http://www.synapse.com/), which is hosting, and Highway1 (http://highway1.io/) (the exciting new hardware startup incubator), which is providing us with lunch. We have two presentations planned:

Product development at Synapse: Skooks will share how product development is done at Synapse. He will also go over some general dos, don'ts, and gotchas the team has learned over more than 10 years of product development.

Hacks for Innovation: Gabe and Sidhant will share their approach to developing technology innovations by hacking their surroundings including discussion about how they hacked their surroundings to (1) unobtrusively monitor the energy and water consumption of their homes (being commercialized by Belkin), (2) enable extremely low power communication for indoor sensor networks (being commercialized by SNUPI Technologies), and (3) enable novel user interaction with computers using minimal instrumentation (technology owned by Microsoft).
