HackPGH is a Pittsburgh makerspace that not only explores technology, some of their members adopt it to see what’s possible. This event is being sponsored by HackPGH to help people get access to experts at an affordable price. Getting into this technology requires some research and reading online reviews isn’t the same as being able to talk with people that have been using/living with this for years. Furthermore, it can cost you over $200.
Every year technology gets faster, cheaper, and smaller. RFID chips come in many types and this event will focus on helping forward thinking people take the next steps toward true adoption, implantation.
At this event, you will get an RFID tag/chip inserted into your hand (your choice) between your thumb and pointer finger. The chip is inside a glass tube which is about the size of a grain. This RFID operates at the 125kHz frequency which commonly used by corporate ID badges and consumer door locks.
This event will supply the chips and the medical resources (registered nurse) onsite.
Cost:
You get a trained medical expert (registered nurse) performing the installation of a provided xEM RFID tag/chip.
$90 (Non-HackPGH members)
$80 (HackPGH members – interested in joining?)
