Who or what was the first robot you ever read about or saw? (fictitious or real)

Johnny 5 and cherry 2000, the real ones were Rodney Brooks' spider bots which happened to star in a bad sci-fi movie.

What topics or issues in robotics interest you?

I'm blown away how people can talk to a kinect and use it for non xbox things. Issues of interest would be more generalized machine learning and vision.

What have you done in robotics? What do you want to learn?

nothing, mostly I'd like to watch and learn tidbits. I'm unsure I have the time for this as learning more about circuits, electronics, C, theory and coding seems like a huge learning curve for being useful. Oh, no wait part of learning python/code in this cheesy college course was builiding braitenburg vehicles in lego mindstorms.

I know nothing about electronics or robotics but always have been fascinated by their increasing abilities
