Electronics / Arduino / Robotics
Electronics 101 — Learn to Solder! (http://hackerlab.org/event/rocklin-learn-to-solder-2016-12-10/) (Rocklin, 12/10, 1-2:30pm)
Build your first soldering project on a printed circuit board. At the end of this hands-on class you will take home a Blink circuit board, complete with LED’s, switches, resistors and a battery.

Electronics 102 — Learn to Design Circuits! (https://hackerlab.org/event/midtown-circuit-theory-2016-11-22/) (Midtown, 11/22. 6pm-8pm)
Sign up for this class to learn the basics of how circuits work and how to design simple circuits. This will be a hands-on class. Build circuits on a breadboard and learn how Current, Voltage, and Resistance work together to make them function.
Arduino 101 — Beginning Arduino (http://hackerlab.org/event/rocklin-arduino-101-beginning-arduino-2016-12-7/) (Rocklin, 12/7, 6-9pm)
https://hackerlab.org/app/uploads/Arduinos-300x168.png
This is the beginning class for people new to working with Arduino or similar programmable boards. This course covers the basics of getting started with the arduino by creating a unique, interactive art exhibit with LEDs. After taking this course, you will be more exposed and able to work with an arduino and electronics in general.
Arduino 102 – Beginning Coding for Arduino (https://hackerlab.org/event/rocklin-arduino-102-beginning-coding-for-arduino-2016-11-30/) (Rocklin, 11/30, 6pm-9pm)
This class is designed for people (all ages! teens welcome!) who have taken the Arduino 101: Beginning Arduino class and want to learn more about coding for the Arduino. This is the next step. We will “learn by doing” and help you develop good Arduino programming skills
Arduino 201 — Using RGB Light Sticks (https://hackerlab.org/event/rocklin-arduino-201-rgb-light-stick-2016-11-28/) (Rocklin, 11/28, 6pm-8pm)
This class teaches you how to connect and control NeoPixel style RGB products with your Arduino. At the end of the class you will be able to create dazzling light shows on a 8x RGB LED light stick.
Arduino 205: Create a Matchbox Car Speed Trap! (http://hackerlab.org/event/rocklin-arduino-205-create-matchbox-car-speed-trap-2016-12-14/) (Rocklin, 12/14, 6-8:30pm)
Create an Arduino-based speed trap for your Matchbox cars! Use motion sensors and LED lights to calculate the speed of your Matchbox or other toy cars, as they pass between a 2-LED speed trap.
Li-Ion Batteries 101 (http://hackerlab.org/event/sac-midtown-li-ion-batteries-101-2016-11-30/) (Midtown, 11/30, 6-9pm)
https://hackerlab.org/app/uploads/Oso-Tama-Battery-Recharging-300x263.png
This class is designed to take you through the process of finding good, used Li-Ion batteries, testing them and re-conditioning them for use in your projects. Students will learn how to set up battery charging stations, test batteries for charge capacity, balance charge across a group of batteries, and how to configure large groups of batteries for your application.

Kids & Teens
KIDS! Make Ornaments on the Laser Cutter, Holiday DiY craft kits & more! (https://hackerlab.org/event/rocklin-make-photo-etched-3d-ornaments-with-the-laser-cutter-2016-11-25/) (Rocklin, 11/25, 9am-2pm)
Parents! Have your li’l makers spend a day getting crafty with our resident Artists at Hacker Lab, where they will get to make a custom laser cut ornament and get started on their Holiday crafting!
Each kid will have a blast as they get to design then laser cut 1 custom ornament and build at least 2 additional crafts. They can then embellish, decorate and customize and paint them into truly amazing art creations!
KIDS! – Learn JavaScript & Games Development with Minecraft (https://hackerlab.org/event/rocklin-kids-minecraft-weekend-2016-11-26/) (Rocklin, 11/26, 9am, 11/27, 1pm)
KIDS! – Learn JavaScript & Game Development with Minecraft (http://hackerlab.org/event/sac-midtown-kids-minecraft-weekend-2016-12-10/) (Midtown, 12/10, 1pm)
KIDS! – Learn JavaScript & Game Development with Minecraft (http://hackerlab.org/event/sac-midtown-kids-minecraft-weekend-2016-12-10/) (Midtown 12/11, 1pm)
Minecraft is a wonderful program for expanding your imagination. Students will create a story-driven game, designing a hero’s journey. Students will learn to use storytelling skills for games and learn how to create level progressions, insert summon commands and utilize Redstone devices. Take your Minecraft maps to the next level! After your level is complete you’ll give a presentation on your level, and your level will be critiqued by the class.
