Hacker News Meetup 42

Details

A warm welcome to clickers of our meetup messages. :)

Hacker News 42 will feature two startups doing fascinating work — Polyverse has created entirely brand new cyber security technology (the biggest growth area in information technology), and WEconnect is creating literal life-changing value.

We'll also have prizes from GeekWire, food, craft beer provided by craft beer startup Tavour. And as always, affable tech minded people. :)

Polyverse (http://bit.ly/hn-polyverse) -- Kiley Williams, Polyverse Security Architect, Former 7mb Technologies CTO, & THYME Co-Founder (acquired)

Polyverse dynamically and continuously creates unique versions of 10,000 open source projects through a new technology called Moving Target Defense, where your content is never on one server long enough for a cyber security attack to occur. Their tech enables more accessible pricing to all sizes of business.

The presentation and demo is designed so anyone can understand cyber security and Polyverse's innovative tech.

WEconnect (http://bit.ly/hn-weconnect) -- Jen Mallory, Cofounder

WEconnect is a solutions-based platform that reduces and prevents drug and alcohol addiction relapse. Use of WEconnect's app and platform has tripled the success rate of maintaining sobriety and prevent relapse (reduced from the national avg of 90% to 70%).

WEconnect also has a meaningful impact on lowering addiction healthcare costs (currently a $450+ billion spend and market in the US), and improving outcomes for Treatment Centers and Healthcare Systems; thus providing a clear, scaleable, high-return business model.

Host & Sponsors

Atlas Workbase (http://bit.ly/hn-atlas-workbase) is hosting us. They provide flexible work space designed for the modern professional. (Tim uses and enjoys this space regularly. :))

Polyverse (http://bit.ly/hn-polyverse)

Static, homogenous systems are easy to hack—if attackers can get the same systems you are using (e.g. Linux, Java), you are vulnerable. Polyverse dynamically and continuously creates unique versions of 10,000 open source projects. Every one of your systems is unique to you and your server on every install.

Best,

Tim & Jasper :)

PS: Co-Organizer Jasper also runs a helpful Startup Q&A site called Capital & Growth (http://bit.ly/hn-42-pg-main-capital-market).
