Arduino Class - Control an 8x8 LED matrix display with the MAX7219 controller

Details
Come join us at The Forge Makerspace (located in the North Branch Library, Denton, TX) to learn about the Arduino. In this class we will be covering the following:
Control an 8x8 LED matrix display with the MAX7219 controller (http://bit.ly/2h2DaFD) (22:50) In this lecture, you will learn how to use the MAX7219 LED controller IC with a single 8x8 matrix LED display. You can combine these two components together to create large LED matrix displays, but in this lecture we'll keep it simple. In a separate lecture, we'll expand to multi-display setups.
Visualise ADXL335 accelerometer data on an 8x8 LED matrix display (http://bit.ly/2h2HNiY) (6:55) In this presentation you will learn how to graph data from an ADXL335 on an 8x8 LED matrix display that we conected in the previous presentation.
Control multiple 8x8 LED matrix displays (http://bit.ly/2hiwLpi) (6:25) In this presentation, you will learn how to use the MAX7219 LED controller IC with four 8x8 matrix LED display. Parts Needed:
Arduino UNO (http://amzn.to/2guHM9Z) 8x8 LED matrix (http://amzn.to/2gOc73F) MAX7219 (http://amzn.to/2h2g19z) ADXL335 accelerometer (http://amzn.to/2himBVN)
Course work for this class comes from Arduino Step By Step (http://goo.gl/5Uv71ft) which has over 20 hours of content in 110 lectures. These classes are designed for anyone interested in learning electronic design and C programming. No experience is required. Access to the course material is free at our meetups. If you wish to access the material outside the meetup see our coupons page to get a discount from our sponsor (http://www.hackerspacetech.com/pages/coupons.html).
