Thanks, to Nvidia, hosting GPUTechConf in Munich I was able to reach out to awesome speakers that are going to be visiting Munich because of the event. Because of that, we have a bit of short notice, but that would cover totally amazing speakers we would have!

Talk1: Dive Deeper in Finance - Dr. Daniel Egloff

Deep Learning is becoming a hot topic in Finance and penetrates the industry quickly. We see applications in anomaly detection, customer behavior analysis, risk management, price prediction, algorithmic trading, portfolio construction, etc.

This talk covers two Deep Learning applications in finance. We first look at how deep reinforcement learning can be used to implement a data-driven portfolio construction and algorithmic trading strategies. This approach can overcome the common information bottleneck in traditional mean-variance portfolio optimization or signal based trading engines. Then we discuss generative time series models with deep recurrent variational autoencoders and their implementation in TensorFlow.

Dr. Daniel Egloff is Managing Director of QuantAlea, a Swiss company specialized in numerical computing and GPU software development. He studied mathematics, theoretical physics, and computer science and worked for almost 20 years as a quant and software architect in various industries.

Talk2 - AI-generate content for the creative industry - Marco Marchesi

Probabilistic approaches are taking over in many different areas, from image recognition to language translation. In the creative industry the adoption of Deep Learning has become popular in art and research communities, but also the first commercial works are appearing. Marco will present a use case for an advertising campaign where Generative Adversarial Networks were used for the creation of the final image.

Marco is Head of Technology at Happy Finish Ltd. He's currently focused on Deep Learning applied to creative processes and the development of Mixed Reality applications. Previously Marco was a researcher in Computer Vision and Human-Computer Interfaces, he completed his PhD at the University of Bologna and worked at Apple Siri team in Cupertino.

Talk3 - Nuts & Bolts of Autonomous Mobility - Shreyas Gite

Let's have a discussion on different technologies that work harmoniously to make an Autonomous Vehicle. We will also go over different hardware platforms and maybe demo some of them. Future of autonomous mobility is another curious topic to tackle. And lastly, lets have a chat on how to get started in this domain, tools to use for individuals and startups, and which specializations to focus on to make yourself competitive.

Shreyas is an ML team lead a Kopernikus Automotive a young company in the domain of Autonomous Vehicles and works as visiting scientist at FZI, Berlin. He is also actively building a community around Autonomous Mobility and conducts workshops on Deep learning, reinforcement learning for Robotics and AVs. Participants from, Hella, VW, Carmeq, Porsche etc.. Prior to this he was at Rolls-Royce, testing next-generation jet engine prototypes.
