What are the big events that will shape the start of the decade, and the methods and technologies we will use to tell those stories?

Panellists

Peter Marsh is a digital journalist based on the mobile team at the ABC in Brisbane. He has a passion for everything US politics and has recently covered President Donald Trump’s impeachment and the Democrat caucuses. Peter specialises in live blogging, mobile alerts and explainers, and has been working on new story formats for ABC News online.

Susan Hetherington is a journalism lecturer in the Creative Industries Faculty at QUT. She is a veteran newspaper journalist having worked in Australia and in London before moving into the academia. She continues to have strong industry links having been a weekly contributor to ABC Radio in Brisbane and in the regions for 18 years.

Bela Stantic is Professor in Computer Science and founder and Director of “Big Data and Smart Analytics” Lab at Griffith University. Dubbed Nostradamus of 21st Century, Professor Stantic has used data analytics of social media to correctly predict the outcome of the US election, Brexit, recent UK election and Australian federal elections.
