What will happen?
Hacks/Hackers Kuala Lumpur, with the support from Google Malaysia, is organising a one-day demo + workshop on making map for storytelling.
In the first session, Kuek will provide an overview of using maps for storytelling to address questions including why do we need map and how can map helps to tell a story or present information/data. He will also show examples of how other publishers did it and online tools available out there.
In the second session, both Sv Singam and Danesh Prakash Chacko (who will join us via webcam from Australia) will talk about using maps to convey critical information to Malaysian voters from Tindak Malaysia's experience of empowering and educating Malaysian voters through maps since 2014.
In the afternoon workshop, Kuek will conduct a step-by-step workshop on how to make basic maps using Google Map and Carto. No programming skill needed. So please bring your own laptop!
