In the coming general elections, Malaysian voters are likely to be flooded with all sorts of allegations and information including hoax and fake news. Amid such chaos, how do we make an informed choice and Vote like a Pro?

Hacks/Hackers Kuala Lumpur (H/H KL) and Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) Youth Section are holding a public forum to showcase digital tools and projects developed by NGOs, academics and media organisations that help voters to be more informed before going to the polling station. Some of the projects require public participation which means individual voters can go beyond voting and get more involved in the democratic process.

Organisations that will present their projects at the forum include:

•Bersih on election observation project: Outreach officer Chan Tsu Chong
•Sinar Project on candidates database: Coordinator Khairil Yusof
•Malaysiakini election results webpage: CEO Premesh Chandran
•Tindak Malaysia on interactive re-delineation maps: Electoral Mapping Consultant Danesh Prakash Chacko
•Centre for the Study of Communications and Culture, University of Nottingham Malaysia and Universiti Sains Malaysia on election media monitoring project: Assistant Professor Gayathry Venkiteswaran

Each organisation will present its project/tool. It will be followed by a panel discussion with all the representatives.

All are welcomed to attend!
