In New Orleans, The Lens is here to fill that gap.

The Lens is New Orleans's first nonprofit, nonpartisan public-interest newsroom, dedicated to unique investigative and explanatory journalism. Without the pressures of filling a daily newspaper or newscast, reporters can dedicate significant time and effort into deeply reporting and analyzing information.

This week, founder Karen Gadbois will tell us about the award-winning reporting they've been doing and how they've been keeping afloat as a nonprofit newsroom. The Blue House will provide breakfast.
