HHSG JAN 23: A Study in Moire: Code Art with D3 / Greensock

Ever wanted to learn how to do cool animations/code art with data visualizations?

Join our code art session introduction as we go through with Chi-Loong on some SVG animation ideas using D3.js, a well-known data visualization library, and Greensock, a popular javascript animation library.

Chi-Loong will be sharing code and ideas behind this project: A Study in Moire. We'll go through ways to do SVG animations that look amazing but in essence are not as complicated as you think they are. For example, breaking down how this works so you can write your own cool animations:

To make the most of this session, you need to bring a laptop or computer device, have a rudimentary understanding of HTML, CSS and javascript, and be prepared to do a little coding. Designers/UX folks who want to learn more about development are most welcome! At the end of the one hour session hopefully you will have learned something on SVG animations and come away inspired.

Bio: Chi-Loong suffers from an incurable disease called curse of the curious hybrid. Chi Loong has a background in Computer Science, but somehow wandered into journalism, marketing and public relations. Past lives include mainstream and trade media, in-house and agency PR, energy and social media start-ups like Straits Times, British Telecoms and GolinHarris.
