The Art and Science of Data Storytelling

Clear, simple data viz is great, but it can be transactional and forget the human experiences and context that exist behind the data points. This session is focused on data viz that communicates compelling stories, incites empathy and the desire to explore a topic more.

Join us for an expert panel discussion where we will debate the best in class examples shared by our guest speakers.

- Rebecca Pazos: Interactive Graphics Journalist at The Straits Times

- Pei Ying Loh: Storyteller at Kontinentalist, an organisation focused on presenting Asia’s voice within the global narrative

- Darren Jacobs: VP Client Development Nugit, the data storytelling platform

This event is hosted in collaboration with Hacks & Hackers. It will be the first in a series of events on great data storytelling. The second will be a technical workshop to the best tools & techniques to up your visualisation game, and we’ll end the series with a competition for you showcase your newly acquired skills and creativity.
