Hacks Hackers April Meetup

Details
TUBE STRIKEThere is a tube strike starting tonight at about 9.30pm. We are still going ahead! We'll make sure the meet-up doesn't run over time -- it tends to end before 9pm anyway.***
April's meetup will again be at the welcoming start-up hub that is Wayra. Thanks @WayraUK!
As ever, we're going to have some great speakers.
Remember, lots of people want to come to these, so please only sign up if you can come!!
Speakers
- Will Moy, @puzzlesthewill (https://twitter.com/puzzlesthewill), Full Fact (http://fullfact.org)
Full Fact (http://fullfact.org), the independent fact-checking organisation, has recently worked with LBC, the Independent and Buzzfeed to live factcheck the leaders' debates on the EU.
We'll be talking about real time fact-checking (https://fullfact.org/europe/video-clegg-farage-debate-factchecked-30919); statistics as open data (http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201314/cmselect/cmpubadm/564/56408.htm#a22); the tools Full Fact offers journalists; and the possibilities for automated fact-checking.
Will Moy will also be talking about how we can pick up where Democracy Club (http://democracyclub.github.io/Website/) left off at the last election.
- Lewis Whyld, @LewisWhyld, the Telegraph
As a Telegraph journalist and visual innovations specialist, Lewis documents major issues and news stories using cutting-edge technology to better understand the story and to create engaging journalism for the viewer.
This includes the use of drones, virtual reality cameras and other devices in places such as the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
Lightning pitches - 3 minutes of electrifying insight...

DRINKS will be a bit limited this month, and we might ask for a voluntary contribution. Often we have generous sponsors. This month, sadly not. If you're interested in sponsoring one of our events get in touch by emailing joanna@twitter.com.
