Join us for the RElaunch of Hacks/Hackers Manchester!

We've had a lull over the last 18 months or so but we have some new people on the admin team and we're determined to make Hacks/HackersManchester into a vibrant community for journalists, technologists, designers, students and academics with a shared interest in learning how technology can help us find and tell original stories for our audiences.
We have two fantastic guest speakers lined up for our Relaunch event -

• Megan Lucero (https://twitter.com/Megan_Lucero?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) is the director of a tech team at The Bureau of Investigative Journalism (https://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/about-us/our-people) that works with local reporters to dig into datasets. Before that, she was the Data Journalism Editor at The Times.

• Paul Gallagher (https://twitter.com/pdgallagher?lang=en) is the Digital Innovations Editor at Trinity Mirror. The Manchester Evening News launched a chatbot for the general election and Paul will tell us how that worked and what they learnt from the experiment.

There'll also be plenty of time to chat with other members and to discuss what we'd like from future HHMcr meet-ups.

We're grateful to Federation House (http://www.thefederation.coop) for letting us use their space for this meet-up. Doors will be open from about 6.45. You will need to bring PHOTO ID because of increased security on the door of Federation House following recent events.

Keep in touch via the HacksHackersManchester (https://www.facebook.com/groups/417017192015042/) Facebook group and @HacksHackersMcr on Twitter.

UPDATE

Federation House is located between Victoria Station and Shude Hill. The entrance to the building is on the corner of Federation St and Hanover St.
