NodeBots Day is world wide event where people learn how to control the physical world with JavaScript. We want you to leave with the satisfaction of making something awesome! Each event has experts on hand to help you build your project and start you on the path to building awesome devices. Overall we're going to get together, collaborate and hack. The focus of NodeBots Day is on sharing and enjoying each other's company and JavaScript. Lots of JavaScript.

Worldwide Community

After the first NodeBots event at JSConf US 2013, there was a desire to take the community atmosphere and spread it around the world, ideally engaging many into Node and NodeBots and strengthening the local communities. There are now many NodeBots groups that meet regularly throughout the world.

Event

Join us for a hands-on day of building with cloud-connected hardware. We’ll walk through a sample project that uses the Particle Photon microcontroller and a Node.js backend hosted in Azure to grab and display live data from the web. Then, we’ll split into groups to build our own cloud-connected projects. What will you make?

So what's a Nodebot?

If you have any JavaScript experience, you can now use your powers to manipulate the machines. From blinking lights (http://instagram.com/p/cFVNtmJxlc/) to Sumo Bot battles (http://nodebots.io/sumo.html), Remote control cats (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NYyGC-wZKU), and Bull fighting with quadcopters... (https://github.com/substack/matador-copter)

There are regular NodeBots events around the world where people meet-up to learn and hack together on Arduinos, Tessels, Edison's, Raspberry Pis, NodeCopters, robots, and any other gizmos that just need more input...

If you have no idea how to use an LED, have no fear NodeBot experts will be on hand to help you hack, solder, and 3D print your way to a full fledged NodeBot.

All you need is some basic JavaScript knowledge and desire to learn.

What to bring?

1.Laptop
2.Electronics, Robot Kits, Microcontrollers, devices you want to connect to the cloud.
3. If you have existing projects to demo, we'll have time for that.
