What we're about
We are a group focused on Eastern philosophy, particularly life-lessons from India's holiest scripture, the Bhagavad Gita. We will be having weekly Sunday gatherings with short theme-oriented discussions and Q&A sessions from the Gita, followed by kirtan or devotional singing. The grand finale is a vegetarian feast using Indian recipes. There's no cost to attend any of our meetups, though donations are always welcome.
The location will generally be the famous "Hobbit House" of Waimanalo, featured on the nationally televised Home & Garden Network (see video link below). Group members will gather in the lush tropical garden, with its waterfalls and koi ponds that surround the most unique home in the Islands … we call it Hale Krishna. Occasionally, we may meet at other group member's houses or across the street at Waimanalo Beach.
We welcome fellow spiritual-seekers to come with an open mind and with questions, or even just an inkling of curiousity about Eastern philosophy, Indian vegetarian cooking or Sanskrit songs and instruments. We started this group because there's a core group of us who already gather weekly and we realized there must be others out there with kindred interests, so we invite you to join us. Our goals for the group are to meet consistently and to form a gathering of folks all happy to share in scriptural studies, singing (or just listening to the singing) and feasting!
