What we're about

Important: This is not a chat, dating, or hook-up group. If this is what you are looking for, please check out Plenty of Fish, Match, FarmersOnly or any other dating site. If you want to hike, please read on. Thanks.

Please note, there is a yearly $5.00 membership fee for this group payable on your first hike.

I have created this meetup as an opportunity to hike the beautiful trails in Halton and Hamilton Regions and possibly other areas. This is for people that enjoy hiking at a casual pace for the purpose of enjoying the great outdoors. Trails can be moderately challenging so be prepared for rocks, trees, narrow areas, and steepish slopes. I like to typically do 2-3 hrs of hiking. Pets are welcome and children discouraged due to the nature of some trails. This meetup is open to anyone, regardless of age, however a moderate level of fitness would help in your enjoyment. If agreeable to the participants, an after hike coffee/beer/glass of wine can be enjoyed at a suitable place.

Back to Hilton Falls!!!

Hilton Falls Conservation Area

Hilton Falls is as beautiful in Winter as it is in the growing seasons. The rivers, waterfall, and the reservoir freeze over and sparkle in the clear winter sun. Bring your camera to catch the play of the sunlight on the icicles and snow. The trails this time of year are perfect for winter hiking: bring bird seed to feed the chickadees at the falls. Chickadees are specially adapted for winter weather and they’re very friendly! A map can be found at the following link. http://www.conservationhalton.ca/hilton-falls-trail-maps For this hike, I suggest we start at the parking area, follow the red line over the reservoir dam, the take the green line to the orange line to the blue line to the falls. There is usually a bonfire going at the falls so bring marshmellows, hotdogs, etc if you like. We can take a short break here and then continue back to the parking lot. This should take about 3 - 4hrsish. There are some hills so be prepared. The park address is 4985 Campbellville Road, Milton, ON https://www.google.ca/maps/place/4985+Campbellville+Rd,+Milton,+ON+L0P/@43.5049056,-79.9642554,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x882b707e442addc9:0x554b46f5a52dfad0!8m2!3d43.5049056!4d-79.9620667 There is a $7.00 entrance fee to the park. Thanks and I look forward to meeting some new people and hopefully some familiar faces from our last hike! Sincerely, Allan

Dine and Karaoke at the Black Swan.

Dine then sing your heart out at Karaoke. The Blake Swan is well known for Karaoke on Saturday evening. Food is very good and the entertainment is entertaining! Come out, let your hair down and have some fun. Sing on your lonesome, or in a group!

Weekly Wednesday Waterfront Walk to Harrys!!!

Jimmy Lomax Park

A slight modification to the Wednesday Waterfront walk. Please see the above map. The walk will start as usual at Jimmy Lomax park and follow the waterfront trail to Lakeside Ave where we will turn tight and go to Beach Blvd. We will follow Beach Blvd back with a stop at Harrys Pub where you can purchase a liquid refreshment of your choice and do some socializing with the group. As always, all are welcome including pets. Last minute additions or cancellations are fine but please let me know either through meetup or text to[masked] so we are not waiting for you. I typically give a 15 minute grace before departure. Let's be sociable and enjoy the fall evenings! _Allan_
