    WELDING FOR EVERYONE! In the Welding for Everyone class, the instructor will cover basic welding techniques. A variety of useful welding methods will be demonstrated and then repeated by the students. Open to beginners as well as those who have prior experience. Please bring a long sleeved, preferably denim shirt with you to protect your arms. The class will introduce you to flux-core wire feed, MIG and ARC welding.     The NEW HammerSpace Community Workshop

    Every Thursday, the members of Hammerspace gather to socialize, network, and meet new members of the space. We welcome the community at large to come down during this time to explore the workshop, check out all of the tools, fabrication equipment and work space made available to HammerSpace members, and ask questions of our community of Hammerspace users. There is plenty of off-street parking, a kids playroom available for tiny makers, and the evening is always the origin point of new and amazing creative ideas. Tours are led every 30 minutes for those curious about the tools and capabilities of the facility and staff. This is a free event, open to the public.

    Are you suffering from Disenchantment? Wanna taste something other than sweetness? Wanna cry salty tears, learn bitter truths? Maybe what you need is a PERSONAL DEMON. Take a big, meaty bite out of life and dip it in mustard! This metal and acrylic Luci lamp projects a variety of entertaining cavorting shadows when plugged into a source of malevolent power, or any AC wall outlet. In this class we will plasma cut, bend and weld steel, laser cut and solvent bond acrylic gobos, solder and assemble your point light, and put it all together with paint and rubber feet.   • "FRANKENSTUFFY" BUILD NIGHT

    **UPDATE: This session is now SOLD OUT, but we just added another session for Friday, Oct. 11th** Who wants to dismember some stuffed animals & baby dolls, and then make new creepy creations from all of the random dismembered parts? Join us for our annual FRANKENSTUFFY BUILD NIGHT at HammerSpace! Late arrivals welcome. Open to both HammerSpace members AND non-members of all ages. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult (no additional fee for their adult if that adult is not making their own frankenstuffy). We will be providing all of the stuffed animals, materials, and guidance needed to make a 'FrankenStuffy' of your very own. You are also welcome to bring some of your own stuffed animal and baby doll 'victims' to use or donate for this build event. Outside food and drink (adult or otherwise) welcome as well.

  • Intro To Sewing: Ugly Dolls

    Learn some sewing machine basics as you create your very own "ugly doll" (AKA cuties with character). In this class we will be using sewing machines and hand embroidery to stitch together various shapes, and add buttons and details. All materials are included, but you are welcome to bring some of your own fabrics, buttons, etc to include in your creation. Outside food and drink are welcome. This will be a fun, casual, social event. Suggested age range: 9 to 109 years old. :-) Outside snacks and drinks welcome during this class. **FYI: The class price is per Ugly Doll, not per person, so adults are welcome to attend with their children at no additional cost if you are both making one ugly doll together.     If you've ever wanted to get into 3D printing, but don't quite know how to get started, then this is the class for you! 3D Printing & Design class, going on every other Saturday at Hammerspace. Learn how to design objects to be printed, as well as how to operate a 3D printer. No prior knowledge required. Be sure to bring your laptop so you can get set up to get started on designing your first 3D creation. FYI: There are two ONI 3D printer available to members of HammerSpace Workshop.

    Join us for and open-ended Sunday of building fun and interesting DIY Electronics Kits. We have scoured the dark corners of the internet to bring you this selection of kits curated for makes of all ages and skill levels! Are you a Beginner who is excited to learn the basics? We’ve got a basic kits that are easy to build and a blast to use! Do you know what your doing but are eager for practice? Come build one of our larger multi-part kits! Are you a soldering god who’s looking for a challenge?! Then try your hand at building one of our Surface Mount Soldering Kits! We meet in the Hammerspace Classroom starting at 1:00pm. You pick the kit you’d like to build from our selection, and our instructors will provide all the instruction, guidance, and assembly hints you need! ---Bring food and drink if you’d like, or even order takeout while you build.--- Young assistants are welcomed and encouraged! No RSVP is required for MEMBERS of Hammerspace. $5 RSVP for non members, Kit prices vary from $15 to $45 depending on complexity. Cash and Cards accepted during the class.
