This is a simple photowalk. Its for those members who wish to come for a pleasant walk outside with camera in hand and do some socialising with people of like mind and interest. There's no limit on the numbers.
There's no structured learning but I'm on hand if you wish to ask any questions :)
Eling Tide Mill at mid tide is a great place for practicing all sorts of photography, and is a nice walk to boot. Its a circular walk of maybe 800 metres. Its flat and first of all takes in the road bridge with the Mill (and a large pipeline), goes through some rough ground and across a bridge (surrounded by reeds). After that there is the new boardwalk, good for leading lines and set amongst the reedbeds. It finishes with a walk through the churchyard and back to the car park.
Eling is literally just west of Southampton.
We'll meet in the car park at 17.30. The round trip will probably take us around three hours, which will get us back to the car park at dusk at 19.57 (remember the clocks have gone forward!). SO some opportunities to take some pix in the golden hour.
The car park has a postcode of SO40 9HF, but treat this with healthy respect, google thinks its the churchyard ....... At the end of your journey there you will have to pass through a tollgate (think its a pound). Pass over the flat bridge and immediately turn right. You are in the car park. The meetup map is accurate.
Just about the only reason to cancel the event is if there is a reasonable chance of rain. I will get a very good idea two-three days ahead of the event and cancel, if appropriate, at that point. If I cancel I will offer refunds :)
Bring walking boots. The walk is along tarmac and wooden boardwalks so wellies arent necessary. If you wish to go off piste walking boots are needed.
My phone number in case you get lost (it happens!) is[masked].
