Main Presentation: Tom Marsden

As a developer, I have been the interviewee and interviewer many times in many different settings. I have been in interviews, where not one technical question has been asked and interviews where I was grilled over 5 hours. Now as an interviewer I’m trying to understand if the giving candidate has an amplitude and the skills we are looking for. Nothing is more painful, than trying to code in a phone interview. You wouldn’t ask a painter to teach you how to paint over the phone, so why do it for technical interviews? As a result, the industry has been moving to trying to do online screening or tests. This talk hopes to cover some general technical interview suggestions, and as an example go through some sample online technical assessments as a group and talk about how to approach it. This is a key to avoid freezing in the situation.
