Hack SMC, San Mateo County Hackathon

Details
The County of San Mateo is hosting its first hackathon, Hack-SMC, to use the County's open data portal and technology to create web and mobile apps that will improve our communities, streamline County service delivery, and increase collaboration between County government and residents. On Saturday, June 6, 2015, as part of the National Day of Civic Hacking, individuals and groups (from developers, engineers, entrepreneurs, students, and teachers to techies, activists, designers and residents of San Mateo County) will come together in an all-day hackathon to offer solutions to issues facing the County. Hack-SMC is now accepting registrations. Please visit our website at
http://hack-smc.org (http://hack-smc.org/)
for details or

to register. At the end of the day, your concept, app, or website will be judged by a panel of judges, and the top three entries will receive a cash prize. The current prize levels are expected to be:
· 1st place: $5000
· 2nd place: $2500
· 3rd place: $1000
In addition, Esri, an international supplier of geographic information systems software, will provide a 30-minute introduction to using their web-based GIS technology so that teams can easily enhance their app ideas with spatial information and lend a sense of "where" to their solutions. Esri is sponsoring a special $1000 prize for the best use of their technology in a solution or app.
Please make sure to register using the Eventbrite link above. Meetup RSVPs won't guarantee a spot at the event.
