Hi, are you ready to welcome February wholeheartedly? If this is your first time hearing about Jakarta Book Club, well, it is the right time to join our next meetup.
We don't really care if you're single, married, divorced, attached, or unattached, so long as you love books and read them on a regular basis... we want to invite you near this Valentine's Day!
Based on majority votes last month, we want to analyze a subject that's extremely personal to each of us: LOVE. It will be a mix of fiction and non-fiction literature but expect to hear reviews on books like "Essays in Love" written by Alain De Botton, "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love" written by Raymond Carver, "Modern Romance: An Investigation" written by Azis Ansari and Eric Klinenberg, "Hector and Secrets of Love" written by psychiatrist François Lelord,"Love Life" written by Ray Kluun, and more (to be updated).
It will be easier for you to join in the discussion if you have read one of these books in advance.
AGENDA OF EVENT:
• Book reviews & discussion
• Book auctions (previously owned by one of our most active reviewers, Anggie)
• Book swap (bring your old book and expect to bring home a "new" one. We don't accept journals, magazines, cookbooks or textbooks)
• Secondhand book sale (from leftover swaps last year)
The discussion will be moderated in English and Bahasa Indonesia. This event is independently supported by JBC officers.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This is a FREE event, but each of us will pay for our own food and drinks (minimum of Rp 50,000 per person). Workroom Coffee (https://www.instagram.com/workroomcoffee/) is a coffee shop that also serves as a collaboration space, so please be mindful of your surroundings. The place is situated in the historical area of Cikini, about 10 minutes walk from the KRL train station. Coming early to the meetup is advisable because we have a limited capacity.
Anyone who's submitted RSVP but fails to come without one day notice will be transferred to the waiting list at the next meetup. See you there!
