Hi there! We are Bay Area hikers who enjoy getting out for monthly scheduled hikes and impromptu outdoorsy events and treks on the trails all around the bay. Our monthly hike is roughly 6-8 miles with 1200 ft +/- elevation gain and our impromptu hikes are anything from last minute excursions to catch a sunset atop a nearby peak to a laidback Sunday stroll.
We generally hike at a 2.5 mile an hour pace, leaving time to capture a few pictures and enjoy flowers, banana slugs, waterfalls, or expansive views we stumble upon. Most trails I come across are through AllTrails, fellow hiker recommendations, or inspired by wanting to visit a park I haven’t been to before. Just a few HOUSE RULES: •RSVP: If you plan to attend an event, please RSVP. Also, if you will not be able to attend an event in which you RSVP’d, please un-RSVP. Consistent “No Shows” may result in removal from the group. •Guest Limit: our Guest Limit per member is one (1). If you want to bring more than one (1) guest, have your guest become a member of our group. •Profile Photo: Your profile photo must be a clear, respectful, picture of yourself so we can recognize you and know you’re an actual person. •Leave No Trace: we follow the Leave No Trace Policy when out and about. That is – we pack out our trash, we stay on trail, we respect all plants and wildlife, and follow the rules set by the park, preserve, etc. where we are visiting. •Pictures: it’s almost a guarantee that pictures will be taken during our Meetups and posted on social media (i.e. Meetup, Instagram, or any other group related platform). If you prefer not to be in any of the pictures, let the picture-takerer know. •Disclaimer: Everything we do is “at your own risk”. Read Code of Conduct below. •Human Error: Human error is inevitable in setting up these events, so please be patient and kind if there are any snafus that occur. Also, if you notice anything, feel free to let us know – I’ve been known to take a wrong turn or two or three (…miles) before and a second set of eyes is always appreciated!
