Big Cypress National Preserve - Carpenter Campsite Day Hike

6.5 miles. Meeting time is 8:15 a.m. at the REST STOP where we will sign in and then drive to the trailhead (2 minutes away) to begin our hike. Please sign up only if you intend to attend. This hike will be at a moderate pace, 2.5 mph. with great scenery and gators if we look carefully. Bring water or equivalent (at least one quart) and a snack. The group will take a snack break at Carpenter Campsite where we will have the luxury of a picnic table carried and installed by our trail maintenance committee. Arrive on time. Steady wet weather cancels. Early morning showers OK. Trail could be wet in spots so pack dry shoes and socks in your car.

Limited to 25 hikers. A waiting list will be in effect once our limit is reached.

COLLIER COUNTY REST STOP, just past Mile Marker 62 on ALLIGATOR ALLEY (I-75 westbound towards Naples).
