Diversity in Technology

Being part of an underrepresented group in technology isn't easy. Oftentimes it feels as though there isn't "any room at the table" for you - and sometimes it's true, not just feelings. People in many underrepresented groups are often overlooked and even purposely left out of speaking events, podcasts, and jobs. Allie Nimmons and Michelle Frechette have created a tool to help those in underrepresented groups be found: https://underrepresentedintech.com. This site encourages you to join as an underrepresented person, and allows others to search the database to grow the diversity within their organization or project. This session will talk about why this tool was created, how to join, and why it will always be free to use.
