What we're about

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” Picaso

Greetings everyone,

I would like to invite you to visit, Follow and Like us on FB. It’s the best way to get updated with new events, Q&A with the Board members and learn the possibilities whether you are an art lover or creator of art. We constantly invite members to Artist's Open Houses, Children’s summer camp program, weekly children and adults art classes, and family programs.

You don’t have to live in Harlem to take advantage of these opportunities. Everyone, regardless of where they live, is welcomed. Just come and experience a charming and quaint town’s love of art.

Art provides an outlet when words fail.
Harlem Arts Council (HAC) invites everyone (artists & enthusiasts) to be part of its growth. At the heart of Harlem, the HAC has become a hub for providing summer art programs for children, arts classes for senior citizens, and various forms of art classes for those who wish they had an opportunity to learn and cultivate their artistic taste in a safe and nurturing ambiance.

Art is an invaluable healing tool and its benefits in our lives are endless and significant in:
• Child Development
• Teenagers-- Creating Self-control & Sense of Purpose
• Suicide Prevention
• PTSD
• Trauma
• Depression & Anxiety
• Alzheimer
• Addiction Recovery

The HAC is a nonprofit educational organization whose purpose is to offer the citizens of Harlem and surrounding area a quality experience in performing, visual and applied arts, along with the history and culture of our community. Our goal is to bring people together from different backgrounds to learn and share art in its many varied forms. Our classes and events shall not be limited on the basis of color, creed, national origin, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
