THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER HIKE DUE TO TERRAIN AND DISTANCE.
Heading out to Black Rock State Park for a hike through the park and over to Leatherman's Cave. This has some technical and very rocky areas within the park with great views from the top of the rock. After heading through the park we are going to cross route 6 and up to the Leatherman's Cave. This is rocky ledges, steep climbing big drop offs. The cave is amazing. We will then head down back to the cars. It should be a 6 mile loop with varied terrain and climbing.
I expect we will be hiking at a 2 mile per hour pace. You need hiking experience for attend this hike. Not a beginner hike. "First time" hikers to HAH will get an email from me asking for experience on moderate to difficult events.
When you pull into Black Rock State Park head to the right, past the big field and then to the right again to the large parking area.
Please wear appropriate hiking clothes including hiking boots. Bring a small pack with water and snacks and bug spray.
I am not sure if there will be bathrooms at the trailhead.
Please check your route, download the GPS at home, know your travel time. Arrive early enough to start at the posted start time.
Items you must consider for every event:
- If you have an event after a hike, please do not sign up for the hike.
- End times are only an estimate.
- The group will not adjust speed or trail route to accommodate your schedule.
- If you cannot attend an event, please cancel 48 hours before. Late cancellations are rude and take away the option for others to join the event.
- Be a good hiking human
