Hedera Hashgraph: An Introduction to Cryptoeconomics of the Hedera Network

New York Institute of Technology

Presentation abstract — Hedera Hashgraph goes beyond blockchain to bring high transaction volumes, minimal fees, and stable governance, which allows developers to usher in a new class of decentralized applications. The Hedera Hashgraph Platform combines cryptocurrency, smart contracts, and file storage services that enable developers to create next-generation decentralized exchanges, streaming services, betting networks, chat aggregators, stable coins, supply chain solutions, and countless others. In this presentation, we will focus on fees and fee calculations, transaction security, resource usage, running a node and incentives, and the role of HBARs. No matter your interest. or participation level, whether you are an investor, a business owner, a developer, or you just want to know more about the technology, this is your place to be. Meetup agenda — Food, drinks (30 minutes) Presentation by Hedera Ambassadors (45 minutes) Q&A (15 minutes) Networking and general discussion (30 minutes) Presentation by — Lucas Outumuro, Hedera Ambassador Speaker bio — Lucas has been a part of the Hedera Ambassador program for a little under a year. With his help, we have been able to share valuable information about the Hedera Hashgraph platform with the Vancouver community.

Hello Future... THE TRUST LAYER OF THE INTERNET

New York Institute of Technology

Vancouver is quickly becoming a major hub in the Tech Industry. We have joined the Distributed Ledger Technology conversation with Hashgraph! Each month we will share the latest and greatest! In May we had Paul Madsen himself speak as he visited us from Ottawa. Each month we will welcome different guest speakers either in person or Zoomed in from around the world. Come with your questions and an open mind to learn how business will be conducted in the future! https://youtu.be/NDe4pN-SQXk The hashgraph data structure and Swirlds consensus algorithm provide a new platform for distributed consensus. The Swirlds hashgraph system achieves the goal of distributed consensus, but without the constraints of current blockchain technology. Swirlds provides distributed consensus while also being fair, fast, provable, Byzantine, ACID compliant, efficient, inexpensive, timestamped, DoS resistant, and optionally non-permissioned.
