Hashgraph is a fundamentally new type of distributed ledger technology/consensus algorithm, developed by the US-based company Swirlds, that is fast (few hundred thousand pre-shard transactions per second), fair (consensus time stamping) and secure (asynchronous Byzantine fault tolerant) than blockchain. Swirlds will be making a big public announcement on March 13th, and the executive team will be traveling throughout Asia and Europe to present the Hashgraph technology, the product roadmap and opportunities for developers and other members of the community to participate in the rapid growth of the Hashgraph ecosystem.

Paul Madsen
Lead Technical Architect

Paul Madsen is a Technical Architect at Swirlds, the developer of the hashgraph consensus algorithm. Madsen has participated in various design, chairing, editing and education roles for a number of identity standards, including OASIS SAML, OAuth 2.0 and FIDO Alliance. He holds an MS in applied mathematics and a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Carleton University and the University of Western Ontario, respectively.

Chief Developer Advocate
Ken is passionate about a distributed economy, and is the Chief Developer Advocate for Hedera hashgraph. He is a serial entrepreneur, with 20 years of experience in system design and software architecture. He has built a team of award-winning engineers and consulted as interim-CTO for various companies during periods of restructuring. Previously, he was the lead contributor to the TM Forum’s REST API design guidelines, now used throughout the multi-trillion global telecom industry. Ken graduated with a BBA in Management Information Systems from California State University, and was an Intelligence Sergeant in the United States Army.
