Extended Reality (XR) is the umbrella term used for VR, AR, and MR, as well as all future realities such technology might bring. XR covers the full spectrum of real and virtual environments.

Devs, 3D artists, and beginners welcome! This group will host the following:

By the end of 2019, there will be over 2 billion AR-enabled smartphones and millions of VR headsets on the market. Unlike the rise of new technology tools like the web and social media, which took 20 years and 10 years respectively to mature, XR is going to come really fast. The world of 3D computing is moving out of the periphery and into the mainstream at a breakneck pace.

Entrepreneurs Sandbox

Come on down to our Hawai’i XR Showcase during HIFF! Date & time: Monday November 11 (Veteran’s Day), 2:00-4:00pm Format: The Hawai’i XR Showcase is an opportunity for XR creators in Hawai’i to share their work and connect with other interested XR creators in the state. Exhibit are invited to publicly demonstrate finished or work-in-progress XR projects in the HIFF VR Lounge at the Entrepreneur’s Sandbox, where they will accompany their work and discuss it with visitors. Exhibitors are expected to provide and operate their own equipment. The exhibition will be free and open to the public. Tickets not required.
