Puuloa Rifle Slow Fire Clinic (Novice & up)

EVENT: We will be shooting with the Puuloa Rifle and Pistol Club for a Rifle Slow Fire Clinic at the 200 and 600 yard lines. You can shoot any rifles 30-06 and below in caliber and ballistics that can accurately hit at 600 yards. Paper targets and frames are provided.
This will take place on a controlled military range so military base access or sponsorship is required and your car registration and requirements must be current. It will be a hot and tiring day, and you will walk a total of about 1 mile with your equipment. See requirements below. You must arrive by 6:45am for the safety briefing at 7am.
Founded in 1983, the Pu'uloa Rifle & Pistol Club (PRPC) is committed to the promotion of marksmanship and its excellence - from the novice shooter to the experienced marksman. Based in Honolulu, the club is authorized to operate as a tenant at the Pu'uloa Range in Ewa Beach. The PRPC is a member of the Hawaii Rifle Association (HRA), the National Rifle Association of America (NRA), and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP).
SKILL LEVEL: Novice. You should know how to make windage and elevation adjustments. Able to shoot precisely and accurately at 100 yards.
COURSE OF FIRE:
Slowfire at the 200 and 600 yardlines
REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have your own firearms and ammunition.
- You must meet one of the affiliations below for military range access:
- active or retired military member (active duty or reserves)
- dependent of a military member
- current or retired Department of Defense employee
- Puuloa Club member
- Sponsored by a Puuloa Club member.
Note: I will sponsor meetup members if I have met you at a meetup event in the past and you show safe firearm handling skills and good character.
ATTIRE: Range clothes. Shoes and long pants are required. Long sleeve shirt and hat is recommended.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
- Rifles 30-06 and below in caliber and ballistics, accurate to at least 600 yards.
- Rifle must be carried on a sling or in a case on the range.
- Ammunition. 50 rounds minimum recommended.
- Chamber flag.
- Spotting scope, binoculars, or riflescope.
- Bags or cart to carry your equipment on the range
- Eye and hearing protection
- Drinks and snacks
EQUIPMENT OPTIONAL:
Shooting mats, pen/paper, cleaning kits, data books, carts, shooting jackets and mitts, and other accessories. Suntan lotion & UV chapstick.
FEES: Tentatively $10-$20 paid at the range.
