What we're about

Getting into the “flow” of creating art has been proven to promote self-worth, relaxation, and connection with others. Creating something outside of yourself allows you to experience your stress and traumatic circumstances in a new way. You release emotion, separating yourself from it, and this brings healing. This process is fun and leads to peace and freedom from grief, depression, stress, and anxiety.
In this 8-week group, you will learn how to activate the artist and healer present within each of us. We will meet in the upstairs meeting room of the Bottlebrush gallery in Harmony, PA. All you need to do is bring any sized artist sketch pad and some charcoal pencils for drawing. Materials can be purchased on amazon.com, Michaels, or Target – any kind of sketch pad and pencils are ok. Group leaders will guide you through a guided meditation and then we will spend timing drawing together - members who choose to can share about the meaning behind their creations. Home journaling is also encouraged.
The group is being led by Jodi Patinski and Kelly Rupp. For more information contact krupp@ingomarchurch.org or by calling 412-418-6063.
Materials may be purchased in stores or on amazon.com. Here’s a sample shopping cart: https://www.amazon.com/gp/cart/view.html?ref=nav_cart
