This Meetup is a place where survivors of childhood or adult trauma can take workshops on topics dealing with healing from those traumatic life events. These workshops are designed for those who want something more than just "talking" about their trauma. We will offer reliable tools and information that make it possible to reevaluate the way you think about traumatic life events in order to minimize their impact on your daily life and mental health. The workshops are designed to alter your awareness of the healing process, and to inspire you on your own healing path.
I am a survivor who has healed myself from major traumatic life events. I healed first from childhood sexual trauma, emotional trauma, physical trauma, and neglect. I had literally just finished healing from my childhood trauma, when suddenly I was the victim of another major traumatic life event. My family and I were attacked by an armed man, and I was stabbed 23 times. Surviving a murder attack left me having to heal myself again. Thankfully, the time I spent healing from my childhood traumas gifted me with the experience and knowledge to heal myself yet another time. It is this experience and knowledge I want to share with other survivors. It is through sharing strategies, tools, and experiences that other survivors can be empowered with the gift of healing. Throughout these workshops I will share with other survivors everything I have learned. Everything. These workshops are designed as a way to help survivors move forward, take action, and make positive changes in their life.
These workshops are recommended for those who are committed to and aware of the personal time and energy required to effectively heal from childhood or adult trauma, including emotional, physical and or sexual abuse.
Workshop Topics include:
* Regular Healing Vs Trauma Healing * I am Responsible for Healing Myself * Understanding How My Brain Saved Me * I Have Already Survived * Whole Body as a System for Feeling It * Importance of Sharing * Triggers, Flashbacks, and Nightmares * Identifying and Understanding Beliefs and Behaviors * Reconnecting Myself Back Together * Confronting My Abusers * Pain and Suffering
These workshops are inspiring and educational. In fact these are excellent workshops to compliment therapy and could perhaps help you make therapy sessions more productive and more fulfilling.
