GDPR & healthcare: towards harvesting health from our data

Details

With the GDPR becoming enforceable as from 25 May and privacy scandals making headlines on a daily basis we decided to dedicate an evening to the (positive) effect of the GDPR on healthcare and the challenges entrepreneurs face with regards to compliance with the GDPR. Join us to discover the potential that comes with the new regulation and learn about the important aspects to consider when complying with it!

Program:

Cambridge Analytica’s misuse of data has had the positive effect of highlighting the importance of protecting consumer’s online privacy and protecting data of data subjects more generally. Businesses are either pushed or feel the urge to embrace legal (and ethical) data usage and commit to doing everything in their power to protect personal data.

Should (sensitive) personal data be completely kept in the hands of the patient? So he or she only can decide what happens with their personal data? We have invited guests to speak about recent developments in data-driven healthcare and the role of data protection, what the regulation means for startups and how the regulation can boost innovation.

Yes, we know that the GDPR also means WORK, but so much has already been said about this. Of course, we will also address the challenges entrepreneurs face when it comes to compliance with the GDPR, but we like to do this by keeping things positive and think in terms of chances, growth, and innovation. Just like you. So that is why we particularly want to focus on the good news surrounding this regulation. Perhaps the days personal data is being treated as a commodity to be mined are almost history? A shift of focus from harvesting data towards harvesting the value of the data and making sure the data owner benefits too?
