Outline: Importance of collecting health data in a UX/UI friendly way. And what do we do with all that data?

Speakers:

Zeydy Ortiz, Ph. D. is the co-founder and CEO of DataCrunch Lab. She helps teams and organizations translate data into actionable insights for operational efficiency. Her interests include incorporating artificial intelligence, machine learning, and Internet of Things into applications. Dr. Ortiz has a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, a Master's in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and a doctorate from NC State University. Before focusing on data science, she was a performance engineer at IBM developing predictive models of server performance to inform business strategy. She lives in Cary with her husband, kids, and dogs.

Kyle Linton is the founder and CEO of Nicotrax. Through his work, he has helped develop a customized, scalable, and effective solution to help users quit smoking utilizing the power of predictive analytics. Prior to Nicotrax, he worked as both a technology specialist at Two Toasters and as a personal trainer. He is also a 2014 wolfpack alumnus who enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and all things technology. Kyle's continued vision is to build more effective health technology products whose aim is to help users live happier and healthier lives.

Greg Kuhnen leads The Advisory Board Company’s research practices for analytics, interoperability, and mobile technologies, serving thousands of health systems and health IT vendors across the country. Greg joined Advisory Board through the acquisition of Care Team Connect (now Crimson Care Management), where he was Chief Technology Officer. In prior roles, he served as Lead Architect for Axolotl (now Optum HIE), one of the first and most successful public Health Information Exchange platforms, as well as engineering leadership roles at Thomson Reuters Health (now IBM Truven) and Oracle's Health and Life Sciences division.

Greg holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from MIT and is a member of the American Medical Informatics Association and the Association for Computing Machinery. His areas of expertise span interoperability, health information exchange, business intelligence, population health, IT infrastructure, and cloud computing. He shares his passion for innovation by mentoring first time entrepreneurs in his community.

Where to park:
Limited street parking is available along Blackwell Street and there is paid public parking on the first floor of all parking garages. East Parking Deck (250 South Mangum Street) is located between DPAC and the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. South Parking Deck (705 Willard Street) is attached to American Tobacco Campus. How to find us at SB:
Smashing Boxes is located at 359 Blackwell Street, Suite 240 Durham, NC 27701. Street entrance is between Moe’s and the Durham Bulls baseball field. If entering from the street, you will take the elevator to the 2nd floor and find SB on the right.
Alternatively, you can enter from the backside of the building. This entrance is adjacent to the baseball field and Tobacco Road Sports Cafe. Once inside the building you will head straight back and find SB on the right.
