Crossing the Chasm From Analog to Digital Health Care

Details

RSVPs close this Friday, December 2 at 3 p.m. EST!

There is a lot of digital technology being deployed, but is it actually succeeding in disrupting health care in a positive way, to increase quality and cut costs? Our speakers will discuss digital opportunities are succeeding in achieving this.

As usual, our format will present three speakers:

Mark A. Cochran (http://www.johnshopkinssolutions.com/about/), PhD, Executive Director, Johns Hopkins Healthcare Solutions (http://www.johnshopkinssolutions.com/).

Professor Cochran will discuss Using Digital Health Tools to Manage Population Health.

Dr. Cochran leads a unique initiative at Johns Hopkins—expanding and managing partnerships with the business world, fostering collaborations among faculty and clinicians to leverage their intellectual assets, and exploring opportunities to share Hopkins-based solutions for population health issues with external markets.

He will discuss the role of digital health technologies for improving clinical outcomes and making organizations more efficient, and offer his take on where the market is heading.

Joel Rader (https://www.scmagazine.com/me-and-my-job-joel-d-rader-solution-architect-radiant-logic/article/530313/) - Technical Solutions Architect at Radiant Logic (http://www.radiantlogic.com/).

Mr. Rader will discuss how The Digital Experience Begins with Authentication and Authorization.

Many healthcare organizations have moved from seeing Identity as a means for providing users with the right access to understanding that Identity is the foundation for providing the right user experience. If your patients have to register and login multiple times with different userids and passwords they see it as a nuisance. A seamless user experience begins with a solid identity foundation.

Provide users a great digital experience without disrupting existing business processes or forcing users to re-register. Large healthcare organizations have unlocked patient and provider assets to provides a seamless unified experience for their constituents.

Phil Newman (https://www.linkedin.com/in/newmanphil), Co-Founder & CEO of Viimed (http://www.viimed.com/home-1/).

Mr. Newman will address How to Bridge the Digital Healthcare Landscape.

We're in the midst of a digital explosion in healthcare. Patients are more connected than ever before, using consumer wearables and mobile applications to manage their own health. At the same time, providers are implementing technologies to manage clinical workflows, store patient data, and become more efficient.

The problem? There is a huge gap between these two areas. Phil will discuss this gap in more detail, the growing patient-provider interaction space, the role of interoperability, and how organizations can close the digital healthcare gap.
